Ruby's Memorial in the Freedom Field

Our beloved senior Ruby passed in our arms this past July. She had been left to die in the basement of her owner's home, starved with no food or water. We thought that she only had days to live and we wanted to give her the best last days ever, full of love and treats and human companionship. Well, Ruby decided she wasn't ready to go just then and stayed with us for over seven months, teaching us so much about survival and forgiveness. She lived each day to its fullest, even when it was clear she was not feeling well.

Each day with Ruby was a gift and we are now creating a memorial in her honor to be situated in a shady spot in our famous Freedom Field, where our canine residents go everyday to run and play and live as dogs deserve to live. We hope you will consider ordering a personalized brick to be displayed at our memorial, which will also have a special bench with a message from Ruby on it. We want this to be a place for visitors, caretakers and anyone who loves dogs to sit and reflect on Ruby's special legacy.
