The current South Dakota Air & Space Museum has stood outside the front gate of Ellsworth Air Force Base since 1992. Over the years the museum has flourished in the community by preserving aviation history, honoring veterans, producing educational opportunities for students & inspiring innovation for generations to come.

Chartered in 1982, the South Dakota Air & Space Foundation serves as a philanthropic corporation to assist, foster & perpetuate the Ellsworth Air Force Base Heritage Program, to include the South Dakota Air & Space Museum. We preserve, protect & interpret historical artifacts as well as honor, educate, entertain & inspire current active duty Air Force personnel & other museum visitors of all ages.  Your donation directly supports museum exhibit development & updates as well as our educational programs & community events. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization.
